Fall in love... with a lil' Pumpkin

This is my third post on why I love Fall so, so much...  If I haven't been proven guilty, let me just give you some more evidence..

I LOVE FALL because I get to dress my lil punkin as a pumpkin...

This was Jude's first "Fall Festival"...  I say that because before we had Jude, Lane was very anti-Halloween.  Lane said he never celebrated the holiday and neither will his children.  Hmm!

(It was actually Jude's second Halloween, but he was in the NICU for the first one and weighed a whopping 5 pounds-- they just don't make costumes that small)

Well, I saw this pumpkin suit at Babies R Us and had to have it for Jude..  When I came home with it, Lane rolled his eyes and sighed- he knew he lost the battle!

Then Lane saw Jude dressed up for the Fall Festival at church...  Do I need to exlplain the next part or will I be stating the obvious?

Jude was so adorable in his costume, that Lane hasn't complained about Halloween since.

 We had a great evening at the church's Fall Festival trunk or treating!  I even got Jude's two cousins to pose for a quick picture...
I actually think that Jude resembles Katie Marie a good bit in this picture.  What ya think?

And I enjoyed being the Mama to the cutest lil pumpkin there!

Fall is a very sweet time of year for me, especially that Fall.  It had been a whole year since our lives were changed forever.  The previous Fall, I wasn't sure if my sweet pumpkin would get to see the next fall.  And I was certain that life would be too sad and hard to ever enjoy anything as simple as a Fall Festival at church.

But, praise God, He was, is, and will always be so much greater than any circumstance we face!!!

I can't lie to you and tell you that our journey from Fall of 2007 to the Fall of 2008 was an easy one, but do you see that smile on my face?  My joy is in the Lord and our life is filled with happiness!  Sure, I didn't think we'd be there, but we were and I was going to enjoy every minute of it!!

This sweet lil' pumpkin (with fat creases on his wrists :-) is God's perfect plan for my life!!!

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name be joyful in you.
Psalm 5:11

Now maybe you have a little better understanding of why I love Fall so much!!

  2. Such a sweet story and an adorable pumpkin! Stopping over from this blessed nest. Our four year old daughter was a preemie too. She was born at 32 weeks and weighed just over 4 pounds, she only stayed in the nicu for 8 days, it was amazing.

  3. Thank God for all his wonderful blessings, your babies life is so precious and it truly does make you into a different and better person when you go through something like that...I did not know if my first son, (now 24!) would live or die for the first year of his life, but I just kept on praying and speaking out health for him! He is a now a strapping healthy man, Praise God!

    I love it when the church has alternatives to Halloween, we used to take our boys to them too, it brought back loads of great memories reading your post! Thanks for sharing your heart!!!
