Aubrey Lane, you are SEVEN months (plus a couple days) old! I can’t believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing you home from the hospital. Now here you are, seven months old, and a vital part of our family.
Right now you wear 6-9 months or 9 months clothes, about a size 1 or 2 shoe (tiny fat feet), and I just moved you up to a size 3 diaper. You can still wear a size 2 diaper snuggly, but you were pooping on your clothes everyday, so I went ahead and moved you up to a size 3. (I know you’ll thank me for that last comment when you’re older.) And you have TWO teeth. You are growing so fast. I’m not sure how much you weigh, or how long you are because you haven’t been to the doctor since your 6 month check up. In fact, since you were six weeks old, the only reason you’ve seen a doctor is for a check up.
You are meeting your milestones right on time. You are rolling around everywhere, you started sitting unsupported right after you made 6 months, and you are starting to get down from sitting to play on your belly. You aren’t crawling yet, but you are going backwards in efforts, which totally ticks you off.
You love to play. You play with anything that is put in front of you... any toy, any rattle, a cup, a book, Jude’s iPad, my iPhone, tupperware, really just anything especially Jude. You squeal with delight when he comes anywhere near you. And you want anything we have. If I’m holding you, you try to take anything I have away from me, or you play with my necklace. And if I deny you whatever it is that you want, you throw a temper tantrum.
That’s right! You are already throwing tantrums when you don’t get your way. If I don’t pick you up when you want to be held, or I take something away, you kick and cry. Not spoiled at all! Hmmm
Aubrey Lane, you are turning out to be a good eater. You love your baby food and are almost done with stage 1’s. You spoon feed twice a day; however, you are not interested in it before lunch. I tried to get you on a breakfast/dinner routine, but you refused to eat breakfast. So we do a fruit for lunch and a veggie for dinner. And you HATE rice or oatmeal cereal. If I mix either with your food, you want have anything to do with it. And now you can drink from a sippy cup! Since you wouldn’t take a bottle, I started offering you a Nuby sippy cup, and you LOVE IT! You get water or breast milk in your cup; no juice. We decided that we wouldn’t give you juice until you are one, and even then we may just give you water or milk since you love your water.
All day long, my home is filled with sweet baby babble, and I love it. You are pretty quiet around people, but at home I hear Papa or Dada all day long. You love practicing different sounds, so the past couple of weeks we’ve heard a lot of tongue clicking and other funny noises you make.
You are still very sweet and love to be held. In fact, you have just started reaching for people you want or holding your arms up to be picked up. You are usually very content and smiley. You do very well in the nursery at church, and all the workers comment on how sweet you are. Of course you are still so beautiful. People stop us constantly to comment on how pretty you are and we just beam with pride. Your hair is growing and making you look less and less like a little baby. I think it will be dark and straight like mine.
Thanks, NiNi and Uncle D and Hannah Grace for my
BIIIGGGG Mardi Gras bow!
Our bedroom looks much larger now because we finally put away the bassinet and put you in your crib. You still sleep right through the night and the move didn’t phase you at all. Now, I was sad, but I want you to be in your crib some before we have to lower the mattress, which won’t be long.
I just love you so much, Aubrey Lane. Your accomplishments amaze me. I could sit and just watch you play all day. And I constantly say prayers of thanks that you are such a sweet and good and healthy baby. I hold on to every day for dear life because my time with you and your brother is so precious. On the other hand, I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you will do in your life. I’ll be there cheering for you all the way!
